Default Mokume Gane & Buffalo horn shaving brush.

Just wrapped this brush up for a fellow member on here. It's a 24mm Super badger from TGN set to a loft of 47mm. The handle is Lapis colored Mokume Gane, with a white streaked buffalo horn base.

Anyone who has turned recon stone will be familiar with this M3 Mokume gane. It turns much the same on a lathe. As you can see it polishes to a very high finish. I sanded the entire handle starting at 220 dry up to 600 and then switched to wet sanding. Went to 2500 wet/dry and then switched to Micromesh witch goes up to 25000. I then buffed with CrOx and finished with headlight polish which I was surprised worked so well.

Gorgeous brush! I'll have to try some of that when I get my lathe plugged back in. Super work there...

Whoever that brush is for will not like it one bit. It should be sent to me instead. Very nice.

Here's the website for anyone who's interested in this material. I know Max Sprecher has used it on a few razors and it also looks great for scales.

Absolutely gorgeous, can't wait to see it in person! I know first hand that M3 pictures just don't do it justice. Fantastic job!

You weren't kidding about the price. Beautiful brush BTW. When I first saw it, I thought the knot would go on the bulbous end, but it looks great the way you did it.
