Thanked: 375Another Barbers Neck Duster
Maple base and Elk antler top (pinned) & Horse hair
I used Danish oil on the base of the handle and polished the antler only. I figured in use it will never see water so why bother sealing thing's up. Ren Wax was used on the entire handle.
The handle is just under 4" and the horse hair is about the same.

Very nice indeed! Did you stack the horsehair or buy a knot somewhere? It looks stacked like one might do when tying a deerhair fly.

Very nice. I am glad to see this since almost all the things I have seen in peoples collections when it comes to barber supplies I never see dusters. It seems like it is the one thing that gets left out most often.

Thanked: 375@ irish
nope not a knot. Placed it in a PVC pipe and gave it some taps on the table to get the ends even. Loaded the handle with epoxy, grabbed the hair bundle with the other hand and made a mess. Hairs everywhere, epoxy...and wa-la 3 hours later....CHRIS
