Thanked: 1936I trimmed a brush once and it made it "skritchy", but some brushing, like I would work lather on my face, on a fresh piece of 400 grit & then 1K helped a LOT.

I've been using a brush daily for the past week that is very coarse horse hair. It will lather any soap and still is rather soft and not scritchy on my face. Equal to any of the boar brushes I own and they are my favored brushes. A no name brush, I got it from HESS when Randy and I bought out the last of the old shaving supplies they had.

Thanked: 375Thanks for all the post, very helpful. I think I'l follow the advice and do the conditioner treatment first and see what happens. If that doesnt get it I'll try the sand paper.
I'm not sure how I feel about the anthrax post LOL. a good washing or something else?CHRIS

Thanked: 1184If the horse you got it from wasn't foaming at the mouth I wouldn't worry about it :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 375Update... Sycamore from a local tree fall last year for the 16mm Blonde Horse.
Made the large 30mm Horse hair knot today and set it in this massive Oak with Ebony stained handle.
