Thanked: 2Third brush, mahogany and copper
Third completed brush. Mahogany stained red and dark brown with Formbys tung oil. Copper wire inlaid to the handle and regular 1 inch copper pipe polished and coated for the cap. The brush is a 26 mm silvertip grade A. I am hoping that the tung oil protects the copper from turning color when exposed to water. Next brush is curly maple!

Thanked: 2027Beautifull Brush,fantastic work.
Tung oil works great for protecting copper and brass,I made these over a year ago,tho they have never been used they show no signs of tarnish.
I also used tung oil.

Those are gorgeous, and thanks for the tips.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Pixelfixed, those are beautiful brush/handles. Nearly broke my heart to read "they never have been used". They are lovely.Mike
