The light grey ruins it.... Is that the epoxy or the base of the knot?

I believe that's the base of the knot you are seeing through the clear acrylic!

Ya, that's the epoxy your seeing through the handle. I'm still trying to figure out what look s best with some of these handles. The green one I did a while back for Trimmy I had originally painted the inside cup black and didn't like it. Sanded it all out and polished the inside completely clear. Looked way better. Did the same with Bobs Orange Tulip, it also looked good. The problem with this one is, because its a ball on top, it acts like a magnifying glass and makes the epoxy on the inside look twice as big. Should I have painted this one black on the inside...........? Maybe. This transparent acrylic is tricking stuff to work with, especially when you glue 3 different pieces together. The surfaces to be glued have to be completely flat, and I mean completely! Then you have to deal with air getting into the joint which shows through if you do. I'm still trying to master that as well. Every handle is another learning process. Thanks for your honest input though!!

Dang Andrew! That turned out way better than I thought when we first designed it. Being a mechanic I like to see how things work. I don't think the knot showing thru ruins it at all. Great work an can't wait to get that brush in rotation.

Andrew - why couldn't you sleeve the inside so the epoxy/knot base doesn't show? I'm thinking copper, brass, or even heavy gauge paper.

I think it looks fantastic as is.
As far as air entrapment in the joints, have you tried weld-on,sci grip #16,it is thick like epoxy and fills every void ,no bubbles and makes for a very strong joint.
