    Default Two Reknots

Got these two vintage brush handles awhile back to try a restore on them.

This is the outcome finished up today.

The knot on the Simms brush is a TGN 22mm Fan Super Badger set to a 45mm loft and the one in the brown handle is a TGN 22mm Fan Finest Badger set to a 50mm loft. Both were supposed to be Fans but I have my doubts about the one in the brown handle. Both have been palm lathered and left to bloom a bit before the photo. I don't like floppy 3 band Silvertips so that is why I set the loft to 45mm on the Simms. Time will tell if I guessed right. I left the loft a bit higher on the 2 band because it should have more backbone than the 3 band anyway.

Beautiful job Bob - looks great - those are the specs in a brush I've come to favor - 22mm knot, smaller handle, and a 40-45mm loft - which one you taking for a drive first?

Nice brushes, Bob. I really dig the handle material of the one on the right.

Thanks fellas for the kind words. I think I'll take the Simms out for a test ride first. Lets just hope the 5 minute expoxy holds up.

Too late, already palm lathered the pair.

I'd be proud to own either brush, let alone setting the knot myself! I picked up a junk brush, and I will have to give this a shot.
