    Default Ever Ready

So I picked this old ever ready up with a thining badger knot and went to town on it.Never having one in my hand I was surprised at how small the diameter of the knot was. After cutting the hair off flush with the handle I centered it up in my mill and bored a 1 inch diameter hole .I wanted my knot a bit deeper so I went past the original knot base.I was left with a completely hollow handle.I set a piece of cork in the handle with hot glue for filler, then used epoxy putty to create a new bottom base for the knot.Let it set up and epoxyed my knew 24mm synthetic knot and when it was set gave it a bit of polishing. Can't wait to give it a go !

Nice!! Have you used a synthetic before? I finally got to where I like mine, just a different way of building lather, I went thru slot of those old brushes back in the day. Tc

Thanks guy's,This is my first synthetic,I've always had boar and I've gone through two badger brushes .The first shed horribly, the second lasted a year and then started shedding like crazy too.I got a great deal on this knot and then scored the Ever Ready so just had to give it a try.

Sad to hear that, I've had the occasional hair shed, but not many except for one, sent it back and the next one has held up for a couple of years. Don't give up on them , once you get a good knot, it's nice to have one at least, as for my self way too many brushes, but I just can't pass on a nice one
I do have some of my old handles to dig up and have the knots replaced. Tc

My badger is shedding so bad I think I should treat it with Rogaine before it's completely bald.
