Thread: Another Segmented Bacote & African Blackwood

Was planning on making another with pen blank scraps but messed that one up.
It becomes a bottle stopper now.
Bacote, African Blackwood and American Holly segments with room keys as transition.

Excellent work. I really like the way you used the grain direction of the bocote.

Initially I was buying vinyl transfer decals on Etsy. But that proved to be a PIA. Lead times were excessive, size and fonts were limited and you only get one chance to get it right.
So I bought some clear Avery mailing labels, downloaded some fonts and printed one off.
I trim it down, lay it and apply coats of CA. Sand and polish.
If I've succeeded one can't feel the edge of the label and its nearly invisible.
