Nice one, Mike. The white top gives it a different look, sweet!
I do like that material on the bottom as well......I will admit I seem to have a lovely brush of that in a slightly different shade, I think!
Enjoy, Mafuzul!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

the 2-tone turned out to be a very good idea, and the Jade Acrylic looks fantastic. NOW ship it to me!

Thanked: 4206Yes it was a stinky turn Andrew, definitely. But the flow and finish are good. The two tone worked out well as the UHMW was a near perfect match for the white in the kirinite material. Knot is curing tonight and it'll ship out this week.

Thanked: 4206Ultra High Molecular Weight plastic.
Use it in lots of applications at work for bearings, slides, bushings etc. Low friction, easy to turn but expensive. Almost got like a ptfe(Teflon) component to it.
Used it in a few handles now and I like the material. Just wish it came in more colour choices.."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

I know what you are referring to! The stuff is 'turner-friendly' and is indestructible! One buddy makes motorcycle chain guides of it as well as fork stops.
I even have a razor-holder made of it by my buddy Darl (Tarkus) ! (need to get a few more razzers!)

Thanked: 4206yup, great stuff. Cool idea for a razor holder in the bathroom too. That Tarkus is a clever dude. Good for cutting boards as well, never dull another knife!
Use it as chain tensioner slide material on drive chains at work. Outlast carbon steel in the same application 10 times life.
I'm kicking around another project right now on the back burner that will be using a lot of UHMW in it. If it comes to fruition or not is still to be determined. Involves a couple 3/4" shafts, bearings, some #25 chain and matched sprockets, and a couple of 3" machinist grinding wheels..."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."
