Thread: Animal rights and Silvertip Pure Badger

Hello everyone

In Denmark theres a debat about treatment of badgers. Some people claims that the animals are being abused. I've googled but couldn't find any sure info. instead I've wrote to my usual chinese dealer and he sent this link to me.

It shows one of the biggest farms that according to my dealer sells to all the big players.

I do not see any problems with your posts Kristian. Others may feel differently. Badgers are food in China and a few other countries. Off and on there is badger culling in Britain.

For folks who have a problem with badger hair brushes there are always synthetic hair brushes available.

There is a certain sector that thinks that all animal husbandry is unacceptable. That is fine. They can have their opinion and voice their concerns. In North America we have watch dog groups that keep an eye on these sorts of things. For me there is a line where proper levels of care are not given in all aspect of farming, and when that line is crossed people either need to be corrected or boycotted. We all place that line in a little different of a place. Part of being free is allowing other to voice their concerns over what they feel, as you do the same.

My Chinese isn't that great, but that seemed liked a pretty good documentary.

Are people in Denmark concerned about badger abuse in China or Denmark?

They are concerned about Chinese abuse of badgers. Apparently a documentary showed Chinese mistreating animals used in the fur industry. They seem to think the same is going on with badgers. But my seller tells me that they only cut the hair one a year, like we do with sheeps.

I also think it a nice documentary and it does show that badgers life in good environment.

I like that they don't kill the animals, but just but the hair one a year.

I really like my Silvertip Pure Badger. It's clearly a better brush then the synthetic ones. But everyone has he's own tastes [emoji4]

The video link was cool . Thanks for sharing. I never even thought about badgers being farmed until I saw this. This farm looks like the care about their animals. Looks like 1 got away and they were all concerned. Maybe for the neighbors sake :<0) They did seems to have few that didn't look like the badgers I have seen and heard about. Probably because they are raised by humans. Wouldn't surise me if a couple of those guys had them at home for pets.

Man every time I think about Badgers I think about the one we stirred up in a Colorado field while Antelope hunting and the mean bastard I thought was going to tear a wheel off the truck and eat it..

I have heard of them backing down a bear if they can get their butt in a hole..

Love using the brushes but want nothing to do with being very close to the animals
