Thank you. I raised the loft a little from the original handle that it was in. It bloomed out nice after I used it today. It looks a little "restricted" in the picture above. Whips up the lather real nice in the scuttle.

I like big handles. They are much easier to use than those little ones.
Good job.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Longer handles:
Beautiful
Easier to hold
Do not slide into the shaving bowlMy father was an engineer. He used to tell me that sharpening a straight razor is like trying to build a ladder to the moon out of a roll of aluminum foil.

Thanked: 4207Nice size, and walnut always looks classy. Good job on the finish, looks a little satin finish?

Thanked: 2Question - how did you take the knot out of the old brush? I have heard horror stories on folks trying to salvage a knot from a prior brush with terrible endings.

I use steam. Put some water in a pot. Put a bowl in the pot and put the brush/knot in the bowl. Put on the lid. Bring to simmer boil and check to see if you can wiggle out the brush after about 10 minutes. If not, more time in the steam. Don't pull too hard on the knot or you might cause some shedding. When it's ready to come out, it is pretty easy to wiggle it out.
