Default Maple walnut and African blackwood

    Hello all,

First two off the new lathe . Some curly maple and black walnut , and number two is African blackwood.

Both will get a few more coats of oil over the next couple days, and knots are just set in place for now. I'll take some better pics once done.

    Thanks gents!

You guys pushed me over the edge, been missing my lathe while I look at all the sweet brushes being turned here on the board . Decided to bite the bullet and order another while I'm down here so I can do some turning. These are the first brushes for me, usually I do game calls, but this is just as fun.

Hahaa yes Mike , maple walnut , great ice cream from back in the day. That stack up is one of my old favorites for the calls. I was going to do some decorative work on that one, but decided to leave it and let the figure show, had my wire in hand twice and waved off that too. I glued up four more just like it, so we will see what happens ...

Great wood choices on all and a very nice look, formal and clean. I am looking forward to the finished brushes.
