Thanked: 2284Buckeye burl & Acrylic
A brush I just finished polishing up on the lathe. Buckeye burl on the top and smoke acrylic on the bottom. The Buckeye burl has been stabilized, and finished with CA. I really like these 2 materials together, I find they compliment each other very well. Thanks for looking Gents!

Thanked: 237I might have to try this! I still have that piece of smoke acrylic you gave me. Maybe that'll be the first thing I try on my new lathe.

Beautiful brush and color.
Did you cast the acrylic and burl yourself?

Thanked: 2284Kyle, wait a bit. I'm making Hirlau 2 acrylic brushes, and also making a vid at the same time on how to turn acrylic...... My way anyways. Might give your hands some know how before you go at it. I hope to have it done this coming week.
Pete, The only thing I did myself was the stabilizing, cutting the 2 sections from stock, and epoxying them together.
Thanks to the rest of you! Just want to say it took me 3 goes to get the CA finish right. Sanded through it twice. Seems I forgot how to do it, but in the end it came out well.Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....

Andrew that is fabulous - a great combination that works so well together.
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.
