I received some knots in the mail.
They are replacements for some of the brushes and handle I have that need reknotting. It seems I ordered them a little bigger than I need for a couple. The plus fits the opening but the knot won't push down. So I will either have to find someone to trade a couple knots with or expand the hole a little.

If you measured the hole in the brush and ordered that size knot you wind up having to ream the hole out a bit. Don't ask how I know. Seems you should order the knot a mm or two smaller than the hole size because of the bulge just ahead of the glue plug which I found out from the TGN site.

Nice, that's fun stuff. I know what you mean about the plug fitting but there is a hard bulge in the knot above the plug that won't push down. That just happened to me on some that I re-knotted. I ended up making the hole slightly bigger and got a great fit that way.

Ya, I have gone around and around with a Dremel drum sander to make them fit before.

Fun times ahead Shaun! Those are going to be nice brushes when all is completed.
    Look forward to the results.

This one slipped by my balleyes some how. Yup, 2mm smaller than the hole is a rule of thumb for chinese knots. IME, some can be a lot worse than others too when it comes to "the bulge" above the plug. Shaun, if you want to trade some knots, I'd be in for that.

I have two done and two to go. I did trade a knot with B52 but sent him the wrong knot so it still have one know that is the wrong size for my handle. I will eventually PM you and we will discuss dealing with this last knot. Slowly I get through these things.
