Thanked: 1Good handle, knot not so much ...
I was given an old unmarked brush that was probably decent back in the day. The handle is good but the brush was left in a mug for forever and is bent. I cleaned it up and sanitized it and the knot is nice and soft. Is there some voodoo I can use to get everything aligned properly or will it need a replacement knot?
ThanksFerd

You might try slipping the brush in a cylinder, such as a toilet paper roll. Leave it for an extended period.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I have an old Dubl Duck brush that did this, I let it soak in vinegar and occasionally agitated it. Once dry, I then cut a sheet printer paper to size, wrapped that around the knot (trying to keep the bristles as straight as I could), and wrapped the rubber band around that. I left it that way for a couple days and once removed it has stayed pretty nicely arranged.
