Cherry wood
Finally cut up a cherry limb a buddy gave me. Playing with my chuck, made the blank too small for a dove tail so had to use the work screw to hold it. Also tried my forstner bit and drill Chuck for the first time.
This one is linseed oil about 3 coats and then finished with a bar of pure carnuba wax. That's some interesting stuff to use. This brush is a bit chubby compared to my other tinkerings.
Still needs parted of but waiting to order knots before that so I am sure the hole is deep enough.
As always thanks for lookingNothing is fool proof, to a sufficiently talented fool...

Going to see if the extra funds are there and order a knot or 2 then I'll be able to set the depth and part it. Thanks for the kind words. The grain is pretty, 3 color changes.

Thanked: 2284Wonderful Eric! Cherry is one of my Dads most favourite woods. Every time he wants to do a project, he's always like, "let's make it out of cherry." or "that would look real good made from some smoked cherry." This would be his kind of brush. Can't wait to see it completed. You're on the right track brother!
