Thread: First brush

Have long admired the work here. Waiting on a badger knot, but had a new Turkish horse hair brush lying around, so popped the knot out. Haven't turned anything in at least 15 years, and never anything this small. It shows.
Heart Rimu blank finished in beeswax, Paua inlay. Less than perfect, too much epoxy and the old glue shows from the original fitting of the knot.
Tradition here is to gift your first piece, and these knots aren't too bad after a bit of use. Should be a good starter brush, so it's off to my nephew along with a Gillette razor, a few blades and a tub of cella.
