Thanked: 1Osage Orange ?
Does anyone here use Osage Orange (Hedge) for brush handles? I have several nice cut offs from my duck call turning days that I could use. Thanks.

I have not used it but think it would work fine.
I thought the only thing Osage orange was good for was archery bows....

Thanked: 315Can you post one of your duck calls? I would like to see how it looked finished.
No experience making brush handles, but hopefully being a hard durable wood it will do the job.

I used Osage a few years ago to make pistol grips for my sons pistol. Also made some scales for my uncle's knife. Can't see why it wouldn't work for brush handles............

Thanked: 2284Excellent wood for brush handles. It has natural oils that will help against moisture. Very hard stuff too.
