I would remove the original knot and measure the diameter of the hole in the handle. Once you know the diameter order a knot 1-2mm smaller than the diameter.

okay i found out the knot came out the bottom of my rex brush and technically the knot measured .875 inches or 22 mm. the glued hair on bottom measured 22 mm so do i need to get a 20 mm or a 22 mm? i am going to have to cork and weight the handle because its hollow.

If the old knot was 22mm.... Id still say to measure the hole. If its 24mm than yes. A 22 will work. Knots are not all exact. Some you order a 22 and find out its 23.5 after the glue bump comes into it. Others are closer to the 22. This is why you order smaller than the hole.

Came out the bottom? Guess i never seen that before.
