Thanked: 2Sealing antler
Going to make my first brush handle out of deer antler. Will spar urethane work to seal and water proof it or are there other options? I do not have a vacuum chamber so stabilizing it is not an option right now.

Thanked: 13249For Deer they are pretty waterproof EXCEPT on the ends..
The Top end should be Sealed with the Epoxy you are going to use for the knot
The Bottom end you can simply use Epoxy again, I like to glue on a Butt piece myself, On antler I often use a Polished piece of Leg Bone
Found the Pics of one
I made this one for Myself in 2021 with zero issues so farLast edited by gssixgun; 01-28-2025 at 08:16 PM.

I have done elk antler and used super glue on the bottom maybe 2 or 3 coats.
