    Default "Tying" a brush knot?

I'm wanting to make my own brush from titanium. (I work in a machine shop, so the handle won't be an issue).

I've been digging around on the net and cannot seem to find any information on how to actually "tie" the knot/stopper of the badger hair.

Is anyone willing to shed some light on this for me? (Preferably with pictures if possible).

    Thanks in advance.

Have never tied my own knot,I would not try to as it is sort of an artform,Maybe better to buy one ready to glue in place,

    Fair enough...
I'd still like to tie my own just the same.

I'm afraid to be able to do that you'll have to get your own badger and relieve him of his hair and he might not like that. I've never seen raw hair for sale anywhere.

I don't think the hair is actually knotted anymore. I think it's just set in epoxy but I'm really not sure. it's a specialized skill to get it right.

    Simpson still hand ties knots.

The best thing I can think of is to go to a fly fishing forum and get some tips from fly tiers. In my mind, it seems like the general principles should be the same.

It's a specialized skill to do machining as well.
Especially the stuff that I make. (medical/surgical devices & implants. most with tolerances below .001" and working under a microscope).

I'm positive I can handle it, I'm just looking for a sure-fire method for the knot.

If setting in epoxy is the easier/better method, I'll go that route, but I'd rather not dive in wholly blind.

I have quite literally never seen raw hair or any type of tutorial online.

Maybe email Simpson and see what he says. He may have some pointers for you.
