Default Dubl Duck Brush - Don't try this at home!

    Destructive hands strikes again!

I learned, that unless the goal is to create a Dali-esque brush, I do not suggest using the steam method to loosen the bristles.
The second picture shows there is a seal over the hollow handle. I think on my next attempt ( with a second brush) , I will drill out the knot and fill the handle with epoxy to give it some weight.
The third picture shows the rubber-set knot from the bottom. Maybe on a very old brush, a good grab and twist of the knot will loosen the knot. However, I think it is more likely the rubber-set knot will win.Name: melted Dubl Duck.jpg

I don't want to be rude, but did you really not see that coming? Although I do understand people make mistakes, I make my fair share, too, so I do feel your pain.

By the way, was the knot busted? It looks fine to me in the picture. I have a Certifyd barber brush almost identical to that one and it is by far the best boar brush I've ever tried. I don't know what they did to the bristles all those years ago, but it works like a charm, with only minimal bristle breakage and shedding before and after the first soak and lathering.

I think it was actually a new brush... bought it to put in a badger knot. ..found a discussion on another forum, talking all about using steam to loosen the knots... actually talked about a brush like this....(Don't believe everything you read)

Do you think you can orcould save the top half of the brush and get someone to make a new bottom for it? maybe it's not a total loss?
