Nice looking Handle.Iron wood is a generic term,it describes no less than 40 diff, woods,do you know which one it is??

Unfortunately I don't know which it is. He always just said, iron wood. I know you have a keen eye for these exotic materials pixel. Could you make a guess?

I think Lignum Vitae officianale,was it a dark greenish color before you turned it? If you still have some put it in a bucket of water,real lignum will not float,it sinks,Nice work.

You really do know yer stuff!! The pieces when they were sitting around have always been a dark, dark greenish color. I also did your experiment and low and behold, it sunk.

Here's a piece at the bottom of my sink full of water. Who'da thunk!

Thank you,Lignum is the most amazing wood,even today it is used as bearings in hydroelectric dams and ships prop shafts.just amazing stuff that can no longer be imported.

I guess I'll be saving the rest for, well, maybe more brush handles and also keeping every ounce of it for projects no matter how big or small the piece.
