Thanked: 2027Door knob brush,Some wood thoughts
The great woods they are a disapearing,The feds (CITES) laws are getting real bad,the great woods of the world can no longer be imported into the U.S,From an ecological sense I suppose this is a good thing long term.
But If you look, you can find and re-purpose things that most people never even look at,very rare things for real cheap.
The brush I made out of an old victorian era door knob, real lignum, maybe 150 yrs old,50 cents at the local Flea market, see them also in Ebony often.
The carved Gabon Ebony bookends wgt 4 lbs,6 bux, they will get turned into something someday.
Keep an eye out for woods at,garage sales, flea markets etc,the worlds best is going the way of real Ivory and tortoise shell.
Once it is gone,it is gone forever

hey wait a minute I recognize those bookends. They belonged to the ancient king of Gabon and were in a museum until they disappeared. I understand some collector in South Africa offered a million bucks a piece for them.
So you're gonna do what with them?
