I can't help but notice he does not shave at all - the middle and left side of his face below the jaw line.
Why he would do just his right side

These things need to 'breathe' somewhat in a permanent location. Natural materials can dry out or stain in rolls. Any hard rubber, bakelite, and esp celluloid/plastics
