Thanked: 2209.

Salt, Fat, Acid, and Heat.
Not a cookbook but rather a thorough explanation of the importance of those elements while cooking.
It also has recipes of course.
A NY Times bestseller. Just started reading it today.Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin

So, we're talking cookery now eh?
When I was a kid there was a cookbook that my mum had by Fanny Craddock, it was the go to for new wives and usually given as a wedding present back in the day. It started with how to make a proper cup of tea (I reckon you need to be British to make a decent cuppa rosy), the teapot goes to the kettle not the other way around and the milk goes in first so it's warmed as the tea is poured, from a real teapot of course.
In North America I've actually been served tea with Half and Half at a restaurant and I've learned to order coffee when I'm out.
But for my money, my go to cookbooks are Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsey.- - Steve

Well since we're on cookbooks (kinda) here's a favorite.
White Trash Cooking by Ernest Matthew Mickler.
There are some good recipes in it that I use but it is also a hysterical read but very regional. I never thought Seinfeld was funny but I've been told it's funnier if you're from there. I'll have to take your word for that. Still I think this one is probably like that. It's a piece of deep south southern Americana bordering on satire. I sit and howl laughing when I read from it but you might not unless you're from thereIron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17

I don't listen to my books but i do use a Kindle, I've got loadsa books on that thing and it takes no space on my night table.
I read Ken Follet, James Michener, Micheal Crighton, and I have recently got into light fantasy, Elves etc. Nothing to heavy.
I did just read The Last Ship, that was a great story line but my goodness it was heavy going. The author liked a thousand words that he could have conveyed in 100, worth a read though if you have the staying power.- - Steve

But don't confuse his picture with the cover girl. She was probably the purdy one out of the litter.
