I like whatever came first the book or the movie.

The second version never lives up to the first in my opinion.

A good example that you might like is The Worlds Fastest Indain.

The Movie was OK but it was after I read it.

    Salt, Fat, Acid, and Heat.

Not a cookbook but rather a thorough explanation of the importance of those elements while cooking.
It also has recipes of course.

A NY Times bestseller. Just started reading it today.

So, we're talking cookery now eh?

When I was a kid there was a cookbook that my mum had by Fanny Craddock, it was the go to for new wives and usually given as a wedding present back in the day. It started with how to make a proper cup of tea (I reckon you need to be British to make a decent cuppa rosy), the teapot goes to the kettle not the other way around and the milk goes in first so it's warmed as the tea is poured, from a real teapot of course.

In North America I've actually been served tea with Half and Half at a restaurant and I've learned to order coffee when I'm out.

But for my money, my go to cookbooks are Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsey.

Well since we're on cookbooks (kinda) here's a favorite.

There are some good recipes in it that I use but it is also a hysterical read but very regional. I never thought Seinfeld was funny but I've been told it's funnier if you're from there. I'll have to take your word for that. Still I think this one is probably like that. It's a piece of deep south southern Americana bordering on satire. I sit and howl laughing when I read from it but you might not unless you're from there

I don't listen to my books but i do use a Kindle, I've got loadsa books on that thing and it takes no space on my night table.

I read Ken Follet, James Michener, Micheal Crighton, and I have recently got into light fantasy, Elves etc. Nothing to heavy.

I did just read The Last Ship, that was a great story line but my goodness it was heavy going. The author liked a thousand words that he could have conveyed in 100, worth a read though if you have the staying power.

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

But don't confuse his picture with the cover girl. She was probably the purdy one out of the litter.
