The last bit has to do with the recently-published novel by Harper Lee in which the hero of "To Kill a Mockingbird" Atticus Finch is revealed to be a racist and bigot. Or so I've heard. TKIM is my all-time favourite novel, so I'm hesitant to pick up the new one. Atticus has long been one of my heroes, and I'd quite like to keep it that way... Anyway, all the things Opus tries to avoid are still around, and his one icon has well and truly been clasted. (apologies for murdering the Greek there)
And now I'm laughing at a comic strip I read several hours ago!
