Thanked: 1Travel with Straight Razor
Friends, tell us how you are traveling with a Straight Razor in other countries. It's no secret that many people have old razors, which are more than 100 years. Do you niggles to customs? Do not say that you are out of the country antiques?
Друзья, расскажите как вы путешествуете с Straight Razor в другие страны. Не секрет, что у многих есть старые бритвы, которым более 100 лет. Придирается ли к вам таможня? Не говорят, что вы вывозите из страны предметы старины?

Similar to shayne, I keep my shaving stuff together in a kit or bag and into my checked-in luggage when I travel from the US.
I also do not bring along any shaving gear that is valuable to me, for fear of the airlines losing it or accidentally leaving it at a hotel. I travel with a plain brush, plain strop (sometimes), Arko (cheap) shave cream, and inexpensive (new) Dovo straight razor. I keep my old razors at home. You can take the boy out of NY, but you can't take NY out of the boy.

Thanked: 1I, unfortunately, took all my razors with them and lost almost everything in the Ukrainian customs. A bit later to tell this story. As long as I am experiencing difficulty with English translation.

for that path is sharp as a razor’s edge, impassable,

Don't travel with things that are valuable to you. Doesn't matter if they are razors or antique combs.
With travel you always risk stuff breaking, getting lost, damaged or stolen.
If your razors are precious to you, don't take them on a trip.
When I travel, I only take my feather razor with me for shaving. This is easier (no stropping) more robust (moisture in hotel bathrooms) and if it should get lost, it is just a feather razor than can easily be replaced.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

I always take two of my Cabinet Cuties, but never the Safe Queen.
