FIL in hosp again
On Wednesday at midnight gmt-5 my FIL was having a sugar crash. We couldn't wake him so we called the EMT's. I sat in the computer room browsing SRP while they did their work, eventually they took him into hospital because he wasn't waking even after IV treatment.
I've been here at the hospital since about 1:30 Thursday morning and have yet to get a nap. Thank God I found the internet connection last time we were here.
He was severely anemic, dehydrated from the third-spacing, and his diabetics pills kept causing his blood sugar to crash. The vascular surgeon is considering taking him into surgery and prepping his leg for a wound vac, which should help the complications from the previous surgery clear up.
All Prayers greatly appreciated.

Thanks all for your prayers.
They've got him set for surgery on monday provided his blood results show the results of the blood thinners have abated. They may have to give him vitamin K.
I've been having a bit of trouble connecting consistently this time around. I'm not sure what the deal is but I'll have to try to find a piece of connection software that will keep me connected with random browsing or something. It seems that regular email checks don't prevent the disconnect features built into the system here. Once it's disconnected it takes about 6 hours to reset so that a new connection can be made.

They have the wound vac on him and it's working wonders, BUT the third-spacing has increased and his lungs keep filling with fluids. He's now in Intensive Care and they've intubated him (put him on a ventilator for his breathing). His fluid output is not good because it never seems to pass through his kidneys into his bladder. They've talked about starting albumin therapy on him but haven't yet because they're worried it will exacerbate his cardiovascular disease.
Some of the doctors seem to be of the opinion that he'll likely not survive this. My wife is clearly distraught over this. We appreciate your continued prayers.

I guess he´s going through multi-organ failure. They´re deciding whether or not to put him on dialysis. It sounds like he´s coming to the end.
