Classic Design
It was a shaving brush made by a member of the forum HARRYWALLY in African Blackwood that launched this post. I feel like he created (as noted) a classic design. There are these kind of designs in many fields. Wondering if anyone has any favorites. Not to be controversial, but I'll start, after the shaving brush, with the Browning 1911 and add a steel or titanium road bike: the makers, from the past to the present are too many to mention. OK, classic designs?

The two things that immediately come to mind for me are the Airstream trailer, and Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses-- two designs that have never gone out of style.

How about the Mauser 98 rifle action, Mannlicher Schoenauer 1908 rifle, English double SXS shotgun with sidelock action, Winchester Model 12 pump action shotgun, Browning 9mm Hi Power pistol, Colt SAA revolver, Colt 357 Python revolver, Leica screw and M series cameras, Nikon F series cameras and many more.

You mentioned road bicycles, I'll be even more specific. Steel tubed lugged frame road bike. I once had a Pinerello with Columbus SLX tubing lugged. It was the most responsive frameset I've ever been on, past or since. You wont see a lugged frameset ever again. Pity.

Give me a couple of days and I'll send you some links, believe me, we are in a Golden Age of bike building happening simultaneously with the carbon fiber import....one thing you won't see again(and haven't for some time) is a lugged frame ridden in a Tour de France.

Didn't take long for the gun guys to jump on this one!
The cafetiere aka French press aka Bodum coffee maker. A simple tool that does one thing exceptionally well.
The Porsche 911. 50 years after the first ones rolled off the assembly line, the new ones are still instantly recognizable as 911s.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
