My hearts with you Razorfeld - I've lost two of my old tomcat boys to age, after 25 years I still have some dreams where my old huge, grey tomcat Seamus, comes and visits me, and my old short haired ginger boy, another huge cat, drops by occasionally in my dreams.
I know what you mean not to humanize them, but it's OK to miss them deeply and profoundly.
Don't be surprised if Lil Mama pays you a visit sometime....
