cut myself bad today
So today i was sanding a razor and for a moment i lost focus and wouldn't you know it i cut myself! I was so upset with myself and now i am out of the game for 2 weeks! I slipped and put it right into my right thumb! After cleaning it up i looked at it and decided i needed help, i went to the doc and had 5 stitches put in So to anyone out there that is rushing a job please just slow down and take your time, it is worth it!

Gotta have a pic, and here's a good place to post it. The thread needs a bump anyway.

Damn it! I did something similar but not with a razor last sat. A mandolin slicer took some of my right thumb. Now have a flat spot which actually makes holding a guitar pick interesting.
Keep it clean and good luck.

Hate to hear this. But I understand there are only two kinds straight razor users - those who already got cut and those who will.

Doctor?!?!? Dude, use Crazy Glue (CA). Clean and dry it, hold it together to temporarily stop the bleeders and apply a bead of CA. Continue the pressure and after that first one dries apply a wider one and put on a bandaid. As a "wandering mind" of the 1st degree unfortunately I've gotten dozens of nasty finger slices sanding blades - all patched up with CA and no ER visits yet.
Also, you gotta post a pic! It makes the rest of us feel better in some twisted way, and also gives you a reference to see how badly the next slice compares. Though, it's probably best to just pay close attention when handling blades.

Thanked: 1184Funny , I hear about it and my muscles tighten up and well, you know the feeling. But when it happens I just think, " crap now I got to stop and put a band aid on and clean up the mess." Luckily I have not had more than 8 stitches and that was from fun not work. Be careful when you have fun !
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
