I decided on a Samsung Galaxy S4. I'm no fan of Apple products after seeing the iPhone and iPad in action that my wife uses for work. And truth be told, I'm not much of one to take a liking to technology of any kind, but in this day and age, it has become more or less a necessity. However, I do digress, I've spent the last week and a bit learning the in's and out's of this new beast...And making a nice leather case for it to sit in on my belt...I discovered that I can use it as a remote control for the television. "Of what use is that?!" I thought to myself, "it isn't like I'm about to throw away the remote that came with the T.V.!"
So, I'm sitting in the computer room last night doing some more research on the in's and out's, and generally admiring my handiwork of the new leather case, when I became aware of the sound of my wife's taped episodes of 'Home and Away' seemingly being played endlessly. It is amazing how you can be oblivious to something for hours, but when you finally take notice of it, you're aware of just how long you have been hearing/seeing/tasting/smelling it.
I just couldn't resist. I poked my head out into the hallway, and using the mobile 'phone as a remote, turned the T.V down. My wife mumbled something and turned it up. I turned it up more and then turned it down. My wife mumbled something that sounded like "What the..." and got the volume to her desired level again. I turned the T.V off. The wife turned it on. I turned it up. She turned it down. I turned it off again. By this time she's having a quiet little tirade to herself about the so and so T.V.
I came out from the computer room after a few minutes...Trying to stop myself from bursting into laughter...As I walked past her, she said, "Have you had any drama's with the T.V lately?" I said, "Nup!" and snorted out a little barely suppressed squeak of a laugh. She said, "You b@st@rd! It was you! I don't know how you did it, but you did something didn't you?" I said, "Nup! Not me!" and ran laughing, into the kitchen.

I still haven't told her how I did it, but I'm thinking I might try it from downstairs in my workshop, which is directly under the lounge room next time. Sometimes technology can be fun...Oh yes and here are some pictures of my new case I made...
