Upon reading this the first thing that came to mind is this,......
What if he or she cannot find their toy but knows where you hide yours?
The idea scares the heck out of me.

I ground the edges off of my Zeepk razors that I bought prior to knowing any better... Once I realized they were not much more than a toy razor, I ground the steel flat and let the kids have them.

A few years ago, my sister gave my son a toy barber set that she found at a garage sale. It had a plastic safety razor and a plastic straight razor, along with plastic scissors and other barber tools. From the looks of the plastic, I would guess it had been made sometime in the '70s or '80s.
Rather than just searching for toy straight razor, maybe try a search for toy barber sets or tools, etc.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

My duaghters shave with a plastic straight.
They know mine are extremely sharp. They know they are not allowed to use them. They only use their own.
    Nothig scary about it.

As with most things involving kids, it's better to educate and then explain that they are offlimits for a good reason. They never ever tried to get to them. I did teach them how to close and safely carry a razor, should they ever find one around the house.
Birnando, pfries and Siguy like this.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

    Absolutely, I couldn't agree more.

I'm sure you teach them well and keep those items out of reach.
You probably have good reason to feel comfortable.
Maybe it is because I was a sneaky little bugger when I was a little kid that I can't help wonder if this is one ritual that kids should not be encouraged to imitate?
