    Actually more like this girl,,Ronda started her judo competition when I was finishing mine,,,then I would occasionally watch her matches when I was coaching our kids at the tournaments. I watched her mother fight early in my career. I wish her the best of luck & I hope she doesn't get permanently hurt.

    Women don't curse as much as men.

    Met a few over time that made me cringe.

    Best to just say "Yes Madame, can I carry your bags for you."

    John,

    When I was 14 years old, I watched my childhood friend 'Jay Masheck' die at my feet during a JV Football game.

    I think the worse part of it was his parent's reactions!!! Jay had rheumatic fever as a child but he loved sports! He was bigger than most of us and his nickname was 'Moose'! When he wanted to play football the local doctors knew of his condition and wouldn't sign his sports physical so his mom and dad had taken him out of town to get his papers signed!!

    To this day I can vividly recall seeing Doc Pittman putting that long needle from that syringe of adrenalin into his chest in hopes that it would revive him!

    When I saw this movie it really touched things that I really didn't want to relive but I'm glad that I did watch it!

    Here's where the tears started to flow:

    Not to get off topic, but you are the OP, so I guess it's O.K.;
    I saw that movie also,,,she's a great actor by the way,,,I'm sorry to hear about your friend Jay.
    Since I have no first hand knowledge of him, I cannot comment on his situation.

    As for my comment about Ronda, most all of us who have been in the sport of judo for the last few decades, know the story of her & her mother. I'm sure GOOGLE would shed a light on most of her life, for people not in the sport. I think that MMA offered her a chance to better herself financially, setting a solid foundation for her also for when she leaves the sport. Of course the risks are high, but I think(hoping) that her team is better prepared to watch over her, than the situation with your friend Jay. This is obviously her calling in life.

    Back to the OP,,to see her in a dress one day, then watch her fight, does shatter the gender stereotype.
