Default In the Mood for Writing, comment if you wish, cause why should you not speak to me?

    The Suffering

…and why did you even say those things you said
That time ages ago when you said them?
I bet you didn't even know what you said
    And what you did
And I bet you don’t even know the impact
    Do you?
    You wouldn't.
    Because you don’t even know
    About human suffering
    The suffering
    Of humans
at the hands of each other
And if you took away the human hands causing the suffering?
    Well
    No suffering.

So why can’t we see it?
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
    Walt Whitman

    Primer Lesson, by Carl Sandburg ;

Look out how you use proud words.

When you let proud words go, it is not easy to call them back.

They wear long boots, hard boots; they walk off proud; they can't hear you calling--

Look out how you use proud words.

William Henley, one of my favorites:

    Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

"No, I do not feel that good when I see the heartbreaks you embrace
If I was a master thief perhaps I'd rob them
And now I know you're dissatisfied with your position and your place
Don't you understand, it's not my problem

I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes
And just for that one moment, I could be you
Yes, I wish that for just one time, you could stand inside my shoes
You'd know what a drag it is to see you."

So why can’t we see it? There can be many theory's Carl but ultimately the answer lays within the human condition. Getting consensus to change is the challenge. Not-withstand this fact we are capable of these examples.

    -----------------------------------------

    "In Flanders Field"

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

    John McCrae

    ---------------------------------------------

"Do not go gentle into that good night"

Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

    Dylan Thomas

    ---------------------------------------------------

    "Good Riddance"

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time

It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right,
I hope you had the time of your life.

So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while

It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right,
I hope you had the time of your life.

    Billie Joe Armstrong
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!

Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

Uh roses are red. I guess I'm not as deep as you guys. I can't quote anyone from memory. Except maybe my sgt. But that would get me in trouble for profanity. Sad part is I am a pretty well read individual. Oh well maybe next time.

Then quote yourself; I'm sure you have learned a thousand lessons in your life, open your mind, release your thoughts, they don't have to rhyme.

Yeah, I appreciate the posts ranging from Dylan Thomas to Bob Dylan, but what about some original works, guys?
Here's an old one of mine:

I'd Like to Live in Germany

I think I’d like to live in Germany
    They’d understand me
Either that or near a waterfall
So I could shower away all the fears
Or in a field, with a down-going sun
    Near the edge
    Making it all golden
    Or at the beach
    Making it all sparkly
    And then it slips
    To the dark
    And it’s all fear again
    And uncertain
    Until the next day
Where I want to live in Germany again
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

    Ok here goes:
    Traffic cone - megaphone,
    Donut - fat gut.
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

When I was in cooking school, I learned how to properly salt food and not be afraid of salt. Hence I told people with whom I shared my knowledge " Be the master of the salt mine, not the slave". T'sall I got fer now.
