You have to build your collection to critical mass and then these problems go away. Once your wife ignores your razors because there are so many of them there's no point keeping track, anymore, you're home free. The same thing works for bows and fishing rods and knives and guns, too, by the way. You just have to endure the pressure levied against you to keep your collection from reaching critical mass. The more desperate the pressure, the closer you know you are to making it to the safety zone.

Trust me. I know something about women. I've been married three times.

I try to get there by honing other people's razors. My wife is starting to get used to packages arriving from everywhere, and having razors lying around in the bathroom and on the mantlepiece.
She has already stopped paying attention to straights coming and going.
Soon I can slip in razors of my own and she won't notice.
The only problem is that I cannot buy one of your masterpieces that way because 300$ MIA would be noticed.
I'm working on that though. My argument is that any money I make on the side is not subject to the default rules for spending money.
    Hopefully somewhere this year...

Actually, my wife is sympathetic to straights because I shave more often, and am smoother when I do.
Straights have a useful purpose that she approves of
Bows and fishing rods fall in the category useless, but could be forgiven. Knives and guns fall in the category 'them or me. choose'

I think I'll like my way better.
Apart from the fact that I love my wife and kid(s), I get to keep more of my money.
