Default BBC Show - The Victorian Farm

Anyone a fan of the BBC show, The Victorian Farm?

Fascinating show that recreates life on a farm in Victorian times, from the pharmacy, the dentist, to the blacksmith, to the ferrier, farming, making hay, making bricks etc...incredibly interesting.

Two episodes that stood out for me were on the Barber, who was virtually a surgeon / doctor, and the dentist, which reminded me of why I was terrified of dentists for so long.

    Here's the first episode:

there is a farmer's museum near me that strives to recreate an 1840's rural American experience. their smith's though are in to decorative work not super useful things like razors and knives. it is about 3 miles from the baseball hall of fame. but they do nice things... like grow very old strains of native hops which make good beer.

    enjoy,

You have more treats in store if your tv companies buy into the follow on series! The Victorian Farm was so popularthey have made three more period farm series since then.

We have had the 12 part Edwardian Farm, set at the turn of the 20th century, then the 8 part Wartime Farm, set during the 2nd World War and we are currently coming to the end of the Tudor Monastry Farm series!
