Thread: Recommended reading for any Canucks out there

I am aprt way into this book http://www.amazon.ca/Fifteen-Days-St.../dp/0385664672 and any Canuck should give it a read IMHO. When you finish you can tell me what you think of the Federal Government messing with their rehab, disability pensions and discharging them before they qualify for a full pension all in the name of balancing the budget. The book will make you weep and angry and so should their treatment post Afghanistan.

The feds have been doing some weird shit. They have torn the environmental and habitat protection act to shreds, and placed gag orders on all of the Parks Canada and Fisheries and Environment Dept employees on commenting on any oil or pipeline development issues. How is Enbridge going to pass the environmental assessment and protection to push in the pipeline to the west. Simple the feds will just remove all the regulations and they will meet everything. Running tanker traffic through the marine park. No longer an issue. Oil spill response, no worries it only cost 52 million to recover 1/3 of the o on the Zalinski. Oil spill response teams don't exist on the west coast. Yes Bob there is a ton of stuff that the Harper gov't is up to. Why is it that they are always referred to as the Harper gov't and not the Canadian Gov't. Perhaps because they don't represent Canada or Canadian interests. Just my rant for the day. Thanks for listening. The book looks intriguing.

I would expect nothing less of the Harper government, which IMHO is nothing more than the Canadian wing of the US Tea Party, WRT to it's actions on the issues you mentioned. I find it particularly hideous and odious when such a right wing government, IMHO, takes takes a dump on it's own soldiers. I guess you only get treated well as long as you are needed. Just call me bitter and twisted about the present state of our federal government. Yes, the book is intriguing.
