Default Long Live Rock and Roll

Not only Long Live Rock and Roll but one of its Founding Fathers-Chuck Berry!

Here’s a link to what was posted just days ago! I don’t care how well he will perform what I care about is the fact that he’s still at it! As you will read when the applause starts his friend says you can see the reaction in his face!

Here's a link to a performance a few years ago when he was celebrating his 60th birthday. Keith Richards arranged the whole deal! It wasn't easy and he and Chuck butted heads often but the final result is as Keith says; "The best damn Chuck Berry show you've ever seen"!

When he goes over to Keith and says something he was wanting to Change Keys! This was after 10 days of practicing and as Keith said; "he just wanted to throw it all to the wind"!

I have the documentary DVD! I just wish it was the whole show instead of bits and pieces!

    I hope all will enjoy!

If the documentry you're referring to is "Hail, Hail Rock & Roll," it is smoking ! I have the multi DVD set with the extensive interviews which are priceless, if you like that sort of thing. That was made in 1986 when he was 60 years old.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Yes Jimmy! Great DVD set!!!

Here's one of the places where Keith and Chuck are butting heads! I love how you can see how frustrated Keith is when he has trouble duplicating the Master's guitar sounds!

Chuck Berry is one of the founding fathers of rock and roll. Listen to some early Beatles, Beach Boys, and so many others-CB was the template.

While this is a Gentleman's forum, there's nothing like adding a little female 'SAS' to Rock and Roll!!

Alright, all you music lovers out there, Rock & Roll is here to stay, no matter what the rappers and crappers and no talent Beibers say. If they could play an instrument or carry a tune as the originators of what is now called music then it could be called music. Soul has been replaced by so called showmanship and hard line promoters. Lets hear from those that lived the times and remember the times and 'educate' the youngin's.

Okay, so I'm only in my early 30's here, but I'll jump in this thread with you old codgers (just messin' wit'cha ).

Chuck sure as **** could play!! Ironically, I was listening to music on Pandora on the way to work this morning, and the last song to play before I got there was "You Never Can Tell". I think I had the volume knob on my radio at one notch under max!!

Oh, and concerning music today, I personally agree with comedian Bill Hicks (R.I.P.) on the subject... if you've never heard his thoughts, just search on YouTube... I'd post a link, but there's a bit of language involved, and what with this being a Gentlemen's forum and all...
