Thanked: 4207Had an old fridge with that push button defroster. Our button stuck in one day and the inside panel In The freezer compartment started to melt.
Panicked and pulled the plug. Stripped it all down to see they used an actual heater element to defrost that mad ice build up on the coils. Sort of like an aquarium heater but way more windings..
Pulled it all out, put the melted inner wall back in and fridge kept on working. Defrosting became a nightmare thereafter. Think it was an Amana, or some such brand."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Almost put this in the whats for dinner thread and then in the whats for breakfast one.
Frozen bread dough that needed to be used.
The refrigerator freezer is in the background.

Saved the defrost water reservoir for after mowing the lawn....

Soldering low lead brass
If you solder any plumbing fixtures and use the new ones that are no/low lead you might be interested in this.
I was taught some of the tricks and didn't understand them that use to work.
