Maybe some of our Euro members would care to comment being that the E.U. Is filled with "foreign" citizens living in other country's and how it is handled.

Moving within EU or ETA-states is normal and not a subject of big discussions. It has always happened.
However the term 'illegal' immigration is almost nonexistent. It is almost impossible to work and live in EU while being in a country illegaly. There might surely be such people but their lives must be horrible.
