At one time long long ago Elk had tusks like a walrus and they were ivory. These days they have these vestigial teeth which are ivory.
I wasn't saying make a disk from them but somehow use the entire tooth incorporated into the handle somehow. Around these parts hunters polish them up and set them in gold and wear them around their necks.
Watch fobs were also the rage, back in the day
I have friends that hunt in Colorado. They got stopped by the Wardens coming into Minnesota and were asked if they had any elk ivory and they said no. The elk is protected in MN. A couple teeth could have cost a bundle for them.
That said, Why not cast acrylic around a tooth or a thin lost wax cast precious metal cap for a brush, Or, a hand hammer chased silver or gold cap incorporating the tooth on hunter's brush.
