Not true, you have that spendy Netsuki, you cannot send accross the country to a buyer.
The key part to this new law is, in the past the feds had to prove burden of quilt (almost impossible) Now the owner has to prove that all is 100% legal.I have never found an elk tooth large enough big to turn a brush handle.

I was thinking more like those small disks they put in a handle. Elk Ivory inlaid in a handle somewhere might look really special.

Once the law really rolls out you will see no private citizens are prosecuted unless they deal in large amounts.

Would be almost impossible to make a disc out of the upper canine of an elk.

Every law has repercussions on the private citizen if someone does not like him or is offended by his viewpoint. Look at many countries where neighbor rats on neighbor before the other can rat on them. I live in a hick town of about 10 houses away from town or city.
I lost a neighbor to Narc/BATF two nights ago. They tried to gain entry to his home at 1:45 AM. They said he was armed. He is dead. Whether he was guilty of the warrant they were serving in the mif\ddle of sleep period or not, they should have been in daylight so at least he would be able to see. They always wear their swat team blacks.

Selling Ivory could be the same as selling 1 GM of herion.
The upper teeth are called Ivory because they have no enamal layer,are only two in the upper jaw,They are the Canines, but eye teeth may be another name for them.

Well, my view on elephant (and I suppose other sorts too, but primarily elephant) ivory has always been paperwork with names and signatures or I'm not going there. That goes for "mammoth" too. You want to sell me a "mammoth" ivory scaled razor you'd better have the paperwork to prove it and the legal documentation that names you as legally liable if it turns out to be black market elephant or there will never be a sale.

Not that I think straight razors are a major source of illegal elephant poaching, but that stuff goes somewhere. Either it comes with legal proof, or else it's the illegal stuff. Full stop.

I think this US law is a good one.
