Thanked: 1587Well, my view on elephant (and I suppose other sorts too, but primarily elephant) ivory has always been paperwork with names and signatures or I'm not going there. That goes for "mammoth" too. You want to sell me a "mammoth" ivory scaled razor you'd better have the paperwork to prove it and the legal documentation that names you as legally liable if it turns out to be black market elephant or there will never be a sale.
Not that I think straight razors are a major source of illegal elephant poaching, but that stuff goes somewhere. Either it comes with legal proof, or else it's the illegal stuff. Full stop.
I think this US law is a good one.
