    Only half the bedroom and closet doors have the original knobs so the cheap replacements really stick out. I feel the same way about houses as you do about your door, Earcutter. When it comes to materials and hardware the older stuff is better.

    Check out ReStore - its a habitat for humanity thing. You can find some great things there if you are trying to get authentic.

    I love when they paint right over the outlets and switches. I mean really, how lazy can you be to not take the plate off and go around it.
