Default Wanna buy some good $hit, Man?

It is over $80.00 for a quarter pound and it's some damned good shit according to afficionados. Kopi Luwak is the most expensive coffee in the world. The flavor... the texture... the unique aftertaste..... the pungent aroma.... nothing compares.

There's simply no other coffee in the world like it and at $10.00 a cup, you pay for all the special characteristics of this coffee. What makes it so darned special? Well..... It is the only coffee in the world that is 100% natural in every respect. The coffee cherries at the very tops of the trees grow large and rip and these cherries are selected one at a time for the utmost ripeness by civet cats (the palm civet), which feasts on these cherries. These cherries then undergo a very special fermentation process before getting deposited by the Palm Civet to be subsequently gathered, washed (I think) dried and sold for about $80.00 for a 1/4 pound.

If you manage to get some, let me know how you like it!

Hmmm.... I'll have to keep an eye out for it at the local Starbucks. If these civet cats are adequately compensated and given a good health insurance plan then it woul be considered "Fair trade coffee" wouldn't it?

I've heard of it but at those prices, not even a coffee addict like myself will shell out the dough without a 6 figure salary.

Yeah, I've heard of that coffee, sounds incredible, though I'm not a coffee person myself. If I had to pick a beverage to try, I think I'd have to go with Louis XIII

I will stick with the kona blend myself, the kopi luwak used to be about $250.00 a pound, but I wouldnt care to try coffee that becomes smoother just because a marsupial eats the berries and craps the beans. It apparently has a special enzyme in its digestive track that takes out most of the acidity in the coffee, giving it a smoother flavor.

I am with you there my friend. But at 1300 a bottle, it is well out of my price range.
Though you could always resell the crystal bottle for 500 or so.

There are lots of cognacs that are of a much better quality at 100$ a bottle. Really.
But these are of very small cognac houses and you can almost never buy the exact same cognac when the current batch runs out. The same problem exists for single cask malts.

I know that www.whiskycorner.be sells some of these cognacs.
I can personally vouch for both the cognacs and the proprietor

With louis XIII, you pay an insane amount of money for the brandname and the fact that it comes in a crystal bottle.

I am more of a malt whisky man btw.
You can give me a >20 year old islands malt anyday.

I never developed a taste for the Islay malts, but love a well-crafted Highland malt. Nectar of hte Gods!

Yea and some people love chocolate covered ants and candied honey bees. Its all alot of hype guys. If you actually sampled 20 different coffee's do you think you could really tell the difference, assuming they are all quality beans?

Mocha, my chocolate lab, just loves coffee. If I could get fresh coffee cherries for her, maybe I could start a cottage industry selling Mochi Luwak? Hmmmm. That would make yard scooping a heck of a lot more rewarding!
