Great shot!! Simply stunning. I understand the man in the photo lived!!

On another note - I always wondered if Glen was inspired by the photo when he wrote/sang this tune:
Glen Campbell - Wichita Lineman - YouTube

It came out the same year.

    Wichita Lineman

    Background and content

Jimmy Webb's inspiration for the lyrics came while driving through Washita County in rural southwestern Oklahoma. At that time, many telephone companies were county-owned utilities and their linemen were county employees. Heading westward on a straight road into the setting sun, Webb drove past a seemingly endless line of telephone poles, each looking exactly the same as the last. Then, in the distance, he noticed the silhouette of a solitary lineman atop a pole. He described it as "the picture of loneliness." Webb then "put himself atop that pole and put that phone in his hand" as he considered what the lineman was saying into the receiver.[9] Glen Campbell added in a statement to the Dallas Observer that Webb wrote the song about his first love affair with a woman who married someone else.[9]

The actual song lyrics mention the name "Wichita" rather than Washita. Campbell said it was because "Wichita sings better."
Getting back on topic; a few years before I retired the power company bought us the little deliberators for all the man lift rigs much to our delight. No more waiting for the EMTs and one of two things that can bring an electrical worker back.

Having been there and done that I will warn you that you will get puked on if they come back around so be ready for it.

As an addition to this thread, for those interested; there is a series of courses in emergency response that are usually ram-rodded by local chapters of Road Guardians and Rescue Riders (motorcycle clubs). The courses focus on motorcycle accidents, but there is other important information regarding general advanced first aid and emergency triage and traffic control.

Many of the members are paramedics/fire-fighters/police, but many others are just regular folks.

Even if you are not a motorcycle rider, a lot of the information covered in the training courses is not covered in ARC's first aid and CPR courses; and, it's pretty interesting stuff overall.

If you are interested, look for a local chapter of Rescue Riders or Road Guardians - I don't work for either, nor am I paid by either, but I am a Rescue Riders member.

    That's really cool!

Well I am done and I got my little card lol! I am kind of surprised at how easy it was. There was like no tests or anything lol. I am not used to no tests lol. I was taking notes and coming up with acrimonious for everything when... balm, the class ended lol.

Perhaps I got more out of it trying to recall it all or maybe not lol - but I wish I had known there wasn't a test lol!

Anyway - the class was all of two students and the teacher! Good times really! I had a blast!

That's no dummy that's Resusci Anne, also known as Rescue Anne, Resusci Annie or CPR Annie. Resusci Anne was developed by the Norwegian toy maker Asmund Laerdal and the Austrian-Czech physician Peter Safar. The distinctive face of Resusci Anne was based on L'Inconnue de la Seine, the death mask of an unidentified young woman reputedly drowned in the River Seine around the late 1880s.
