I appreciate your reply and accumen...
The "awesome" comment wasnt regarding your post, but another. I will Pm you badg3r rather than post here.
I do not want to come off as offensive, but I just don't think there's anything great about this event/circumstance. Its rather sad in my opinion. Yes everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I don't like to think that anyone on this site thinks its OK to bully a non profit organisation or its members trying to make the world a more humane place. It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice

Ungentlemanly? How so? Amusement is the natural reaction to the ludicrous, and the predicament of a man taped to a tree as a consequence for attempting to intimidate and shame those that even the full force of law and society cannot is, undeniably, ludicrous.
That said, I have no sympathy for them. While certainly, they are standing up for what they believe in aren't other people who engage in despicable and destructive acts also standing up for what they believe in such as a suicide bomber or, say, the Westboro Baptist Church? I would be amused if any of those folks -- in a nonlethal, collegiate prank sort of way -- received some comeuppance as well.
What it comes down to is that you feel some sympathy for their cause and therefore you feel their "comeuppance" was undeserved, yes? Or maybe you would feel the same if, instead of PETA, it were an extremist you disagreed with?
At any rate, I feel no shame in finding a man taped to a tree for attempting to intimidate and shame people amusing. He'll live and get over it and hopefully learn from it.
HOWEVER, my "awesome" comment was in interpreting a grainy picture. If anyone was harmed or -- heaven forbid -- killed in the incident then my position is not one of amusement.

I really don't know how anyone else feels about it but I like steak and bacon and chicken as well as vegies. I also like my Bike and MY CLOTHING WHAT EVER IT'S MADE OF I BOUGHT AND PAID FOR IT AND WOULD NOT LIKE IT RUINED BY ANYONE. now if that's not gentlemanly well it goes back to what a teacher told me years ago your business ends where mine begins. if peta doesn't like meat and leather products then I want force them on them. but it seams they want to force there beliefs on others. I really don't know what happened there but I know if someone throws things (fake blood etc.) on me or my bike well I probably do more than what those bikers did. now I don't want to offend anyone and I did find the article on the internet and read it. I may have missed it but I didn't see anything about broken bones or real blood being spilt...Peta got what they deserved. My way of thinking

Ok besides it being Satire which you continue to miss,,,
But let's read the article for what it was and how it was written for a second and assume it was true
"The organizer said a group of concerned animal rights activists, “growing tired of throwing fake blood and shouting profanities at older women wearing leather or fur coats,” decided to protest the annual motorcycle club event “in a hope to show them our outrage at their wanton use of leather in their clothing and motor bike seats.”
“In fact,” said the organizer, “motorcycle gangs are one of the biggest abusers of wearing leather, and we decided it was high time that we let them know that we disagree with them using it, ergo, they should stop.”
According to witnesses, protesters arrived at the event in a vintage 1960′s era Volkswagen van and began to pelt the gang members with balloons filled with red colored water, simulating blood, and shouting “you’re murderers” to passersby. This, evidently, is when the brouhaha began."
That part in the red, would in the real world be Assault, and if this were true, then "Ya gets what you deserve" sorry but you misread two things first it was satire and second the bikers were assaulted in the fake story...Last edited by gssixgun; 03-27-2014 at 04:26 PM.

Sorry I can't get it to post larger...I may not have written anything, but the ROTFLMAO icon kind of speaks for itself...it's satire, it's supposed to be funny, the humor being in that, as the Stranger said in the Big Lebowski, "Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes, well, he eats you." And in this case, pun intended, the bear ate the PETA protesters, who, all good intentions aside, have been known, to put it simply, to p$ss people off.

Yes Bobh it is. Can't even poke fun at a tree hugged either! Although this picture has him kinda "tree hugging". By the way in real life ,glen is right these PETA people have committed crimes when you assault and destroy others property ,, not a very nice thing to do ,, and in real life if done to this biker , they wouldn't have gotten off so easy. ...and these are probably the same people who rage against the machine at corporate culture while holding their iPhones, texting madly away on their computers while sucking free WiFi from their local Starbucks drinking that skinny Latte...you know, using all that non-corporate stuff...just like rules and manners, they only apply to others...dirty hipsters!
