Thanked: 284Thank goodness for my smartphone lifeline
Power surge on my street melted 4 surge protectors and took out my computer, cable boxes (wife is in withdrawals), dimmer switches, heater, AC and router.
Glad I have my phone to keep up on SRP!
And my lathe and mill weren't plugged inI love living in the past...

So you have your phone, lathe and mill... Did this even put a cramp in your day?
Seriously though that is rough. Guess you will just have to go in the shop for longer to keep yourself occupied...

A similar thing happened to me a few years back only thing that was affected was my PC, I phoned the power company and told them my PC no longer works after a power cut and they sent someone out a replaced it with a new one.

Thanked: 284I thought the same thing - what good are the surge protectors then?
I first noticed in the morning things were going kinda nuts in the house. An electrician a couple streets over said he got called to a house behind us and the power coming in was way off.
Buy yeah my neighbor had a bunch of things blown too.
Just glad it didn't start a fire.I love living in the past...
